WARNING! CONNECTICUT MEDICAID CRISIS!

11/19/2003 12:00:00 AM

In 1996, Connecticut Medicaid implemented a 15% CUT in reimbursement to Wheelchair & Durable Medical Equipment providers. Now, a new proposed reduction in Medicaid reimbursement targeting Rehab Equipment Providers will have a DEVASTATING effect on the ability to provide the ESSENTIAL equipment and repair services that Medicaid beneficiaries rely upon so heavily for mobility and independent living.

IF PASSED, THIS LEGISLATION WILL PLACE CONNECTICUT AT OR NEAR THE LOWEST RATE OF MEDICAID REIMBURSEMENT FOR WHEELCHAIRS AND DME IN THE NATION! IT WILL LIMIT OR DENY ACCESS TO THE EQUIPMENT AND SERVICES SO VITAL TO THE DISABLED COMMUNITY!

Concerned consumers and caregivers need to contact their state representatives TODAY!! Tell your state representatives that the budget cut to the Medicaid program impacts only custom wheelchair providers and will make it difficult, if not impossible, for you to get the equipment and services that you need to remain independent in your home and in the community.
